About
A Voice Rooted
in the Berkshires
Leah Najimy was born in the hills of Savoy, Massachusetts. She grew up surrounded by music — singing at home, at church, and in the maple-sugaring seasons of a New England childhood. Her solo debut at nine, performing Walking in the Air at the Berkshire Homeschool Choir Concert, began a journey deep into the world of classical voice.
After joining the Berkshire Lyric Children’s Choir at age eleven, she was invited at fourteen to their Choral Scholar program, where she studied light arias and German art song for four years. She later studied classical voice with Marjorie Dix at the Berkshire Music School while attending Berkshire Community College, and expanded her palette in the BCC Jazz Ensemble.
Leah transferred to Bob Jones University, where she is completing a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance with a minor in German Language. She studies opera and art song, sings with the BJU Chorale and Chamber Choir, and has performed roles including Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.
